Universal Display Corporation (UDC) has signed on agreement to supply its PHOLED phosphorescent OLED materials and technology to Philips, to be used in their commercial OLED lighting products.

Their initial agreement was that Philips would use UDC’s PHOLED materials and technology, trademarked as Universal PHOLED, in its solid-state lighting applications.

President and CEO of Universal Display Corporations, Steven V Abramson, said:

We are excited to extend our working relationship with Philips. This is an important next step for UDC, from the earlier evaluation agreement we announced in November 2013. It demonstrates the continued acceptance of UDC’s phosphorescent OLED technology and materials by the emerging OLED lighting industry for high performance. energy-efficient solid state lighting.
