Megaman’s LED PAR 30 dimming lamps have been chosen to replace the 75w lamps currently lighting Ripley’s Believe it or Not! in London. This switch over is expected to save around £10,000 on energy a year.
Ripley’s Believe it or Not! exhibit is one of London’s many attractions, situated in the popular Piccadilly Circus. There is a large amount of spotlights throughout the museum to highlight the many displays. The original 75w spotlights were creating a lot of heat, making the environment far too hot and uncomfortable for both staff and visitors.
Other issues with these lamps were the short life-span and the inability to dim the lights. After assessment, it was decided that the more energy efficient Megaman LED 12w lamps would be fitted in replacement as LED light bulbs use less power and do not emit as much heat.
