A church in South Yorkshire has changed all of its lighting to LED to save energy.
Cawthorne Church in Barnsley is hoping to save energy and cut their energy bills with their new LED light bulbs. The lights will be switched on ceremonially during the church’s Festival of Light service on October 5th.
John Lees of Cawthorne Church said:
The church had last been rewired in the 1960s and rewiring was well overdue. Great care was taken in selecting light fittings that would be keeping with the character of the listed building.
First the Sistine Chapel and now churches are making the switch to LED. Will more religious buildings follow suit?
